A Tale of Two Julies
In my dream this morning, I was back in high school.
I walked in the classroom and looked around the room.
I was trying to remember where my seat assignment was.
I took a guess and sat down in seat number 10.
I started to worry a little bit that we were going to have a test and I wasn't prepared for it.
The teacher walked in the classroom.
I asked the teacher if that was my assigned seat, she shook her head no but it didn't seem important and she would let me know I thought.
Then she announced that she had given me some sort of responsibility in the mornings.
Something I had never done before.
And then she said to the whole class that there were two Julies in the classroom, at which point I look over to the other Julie sitting down in her chair next to some other students.
The teacher continued to say, "There is the shy Julie(sitting down) and this Julie(me) and I have assigned her this job."
I don't remenber what it was exactly, but it involved getting up early and I did it by myself.
Then she gave me another responsibility.
She took me to this place that had some sort of canvas on a table with different objects(handmade) and I was to choose 3 different pieces that represented our class.
And the 3 things would be on display at the end of the term.
I wasn't to spend too much time deciding, but to be thoughtful on my decisions(there wasn't a lot to choose from).
I remember picking the 3 items and thinking it was an honored position to be in.
To be given favor for such a task and that she didn't call me the shy Julie which is how in real life I felt I was in school, even though people have told me that is not how they remembered me.
I woke up pondering it all of course.
I have come a long way from those days.
It also made me think of the ten talents from scripture.
I am grateful for the growth and for my life in Him
and that He who began a good work in me,
is Faithful to complete it.
“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 NASB1995
I'm so thankful for this new day with Him
God You are so good to me❤
