I was praying for a brother in Christ this morning.
I was praying for Jesus to set him free from every encumbrance that would keep him from walking closely with Him.
I don't often use that word so I looked it up and saw this example in a sentence.
"Without the encumbrance of a heavy backpack, I could sprint along the trail."
I immediately thought of the scripture “The Lord God is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, And makes me walk on my high places.” ‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭3:19‬ ‭
It is a personal favorite scripture that I really cherish.
The precious part about that example is that I was sharing with him yesterday that sins against us are like rocks in a backpack.
Imagine carrying a backpack around in life all day and night. And every time someone sins agsinst us a rock representing that sin is put in our backpack.
And everytime we sin against someone, we put a rock in their backpack and on and on it goes.
And the backback becomes a heavy load, makes it pretty difficult and burdensome.
And yet many of us live with the weight of sins. And Jesus died to take the load from us. To walk in freedom, to set us free.
To leap upon the high places with Him.
If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
“When you set him free, you shall not send him away empty-handed.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭15:13‬

“seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.” ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:3-4‬
Truly God loves us, truly Jesus loves us, truly the Holy Spirit helps us.
