Today is my sister Christine's birthday today. I love her. So much. I wanted to share something I don't have a photo for, because it was something I saw, it was very real. I felt it all as you feel the warmth of the sun, the softness of a kitten, the chill of an open window in the Fall. What did you see?
I actually heard first. Driving home after visiting my dad and sister, the song "Come On, Come Out" came on the radio. And that is when I saw it, piece by piece connecting, flowing so easily.
My sister was standing outside (Spring day) in the backyard of my dad's house. I was inside standing at the sliding glass door screen and I saw her. She was taking in the sunshine, enjoying the moment. And I was looking at her and suddenly she was aware of my presence. This is where the lyrics of the song begin. And I see her mouthing, but really singing to me, "Come on come out, the weather is warm. Come on Come out(as her hand gestures me to come out) and I smile back at her, and lovingly joke at her almost commands and reply imitating her actions with a smile. "Said come on, come on."
I open the screen door and join her. And then we are in another scene. She points to a welcoming area of land and says, "A spot in the shade, where oranges fall." I reply, "A spot in the shade, away from it all." Christine(looking up):"Watching the sky, watching a painting coming to life, shifting and shaping". Me(looking to where she is looking and replying back, "Staying inside, it all goes it all goes by." We both are taking in the wondrous sky. Christine: "A blanket unfolds, a blanket tonight." Me (looking at the sun reflecting in her golden eyes)"The pieces of gold, they light up your eyes." Christine (observing)"Now we're alone." Me (looking and smiling)"Now we're alive."

This is what I saw, and every time I hear this song by a Fine Frenzy, I will remember my sister. How she wanted me to join her in the beautiful Spring day.
