His Marvelous Light
My dream last night.
What I remember.
I believe it was around Christmas time and I think I was younger, not sure what age I was in the dream. But my mom was with me, she seemed younger than she is now.
We drove to a house at night. It might have been day and there was darkness all around, I can't say either way. What I do know it was dark outside. The neighborhood seemed like a setting back east US somewhere. Maine, Virginia, I'm not sure. The houses were big and not modern. We walked up to the front or side lawn of the house and a large group of people were standing around a very tall tree looking up. I couldn't see at first what they were looking at. But, more than a few people had huge flashlights and they were pointing the light to under the tree up towards the top. Everyone seemed so joyful and excited at what they were seeing. I looked up and saw darkness, but huge beams of white light cutting through the branches. It was surreal, it was beautiful, I couldn't take my eyes off of it. Captivated by the streams of light just radiantly coming through the darkness. The next thing I know, we were all in one room of the house. I felt like it was upstairs somewhere. I looked around the room and I saw a couple of people I recognized, though I have not met them. I remember there was a lot of joy in the room. We were not eating, there was no entertainment. Not much going on except conversations I could not make out. I was observing, just taking the small amount of time we had there. And I noticed the joy on peoples faces. Then I remember walking down the stairs of the house and just feeling content, at peace, joyful.
John 12:35-36 So Jesus said to them, “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.”
John 8:12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Ecclesiastes 2:13 And I saw that wisdom excels folly as light excels darkness.
Ephesians 5:8-9 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth)
Ephesians 5:13-14 But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. For this reason it says, "Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you."
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
1 John 1:5-7 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Psalm 36:9 For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.
Revelation 21:23-24 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.
2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
Thank You gracious Holy Father for this encouragement. I need You, we need You. Be our everything, change our want to's. Your desires be our desires.
