Almost done with my Gideon study, and I am so amazed and grateful for all that God has shared with me. The connections that will stay with me, that have given me a different perspective on how I look at certain things. For example the mention of dew.
Every morning I see that glistening sparkle of dew on the grass or on my car windshield. I am reminded of the symbolic meaning. Oh how He loves!
"Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the nations, And I will sing praises to Your name. " He is a tower of deliverance to His king, And shows lovingkindness to His anointed, To David and his descendants forever." (2 Samuel 22:50, 51 NASB)
"Dew is frequently a symbol of a special endowment of God's kindness and approval expressed to his people. Like dew, Grace is a surprising gift that cannot be handmade are manufactured. God extends it to humanity as a miracle from on high." Priscilla Shirer
Throughout scripture, dew is used as a sign of divine grace and favor.
The king's wrath is like the roaring of a lion, But his favor is like dew on the grass. (Proverbs 19:12 NASB)
When the dew fell on the camp at night, the manna would fall with it. (Numbers 11:9 NASB)
"So Israel dwells in security, The fountain of Jacob secluded, In a land of grain and new wine; His heavens also drop down dew. (Deuteronomy 33:28 NASB)
Now may God give you of the dew of heaven, And of the fatness of the earth, And an abundance of grain and new wine; (Genesis 27:28 NASB)
"The dew of heaven makes us different."
