I went to the local Farmer's Market today hoping to find figs because I was thinking I bought them in September last year. I only saw one stand that had a few and they wanted more money than I was willing to spend. So, I stopped first at my usual stand to buy Kale, cauliflower, and garlic. Next I went to look for my favorite apple that only one person sells, they have the perfect factor about them in both color and crispness AND flavor. Bought those, went to buy my local honey. Talked to the lady who gave me tastes of the 3 varieties and I was sold on the blackberry honey. Very unique in flavor and darker because of the blackberry the bees pollinated. I would love to one day have my own hive but for now I'm glad I can have any at all. I also decided I'm going to dip my pinky finger in the jar and eat it that way. Went to my last stand to buy huge crisp juicy sweet black seedless grapes. I left with my bounty and tonight I put my pinky in the jar and now I'm eating some of the grapes. Well after I tasted the honey, I really felt spoiled and I thought about the manna and quail the Israilites ate each day. We are spoiled, we are blessed. Each season we delight in such a variety of food that not only looks amazing but tastes amazing. It's not like this is all new to me, I guess I just thought more about it today. And have you ever had sugarcane? Don't get me started. Taste and see. God is good.
